She obtained her Masters in Elementary Education from Wayne State University and has been an educator for 6 years, in Morocco, New York, Michigan, and DC. She is currently navigating a career shift into the technology field as she is training in Amazon Web Service Cloud Practitioner and Cloud Architect to pursue IT roles within consulting companies.
One of her favorite books: The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
Why she joined the ALC: I love that OppNet students/alum are advocating for their space to be theirs and I am excited to have the opportunity to support it!
How she's managing to navigate this virtual reality: I am investing time, energy, and experiences in me and my community. I am spending time with family ad watching my nephews and nieces (ages 0-3 years) grow up in their formative years, watching them take their first steps to teaching them to identify problems and solutions. I am using this time and space to reflect on my family life experiences in the last 3 generations and working on short stories and poetry. I have started biking safely around DC looking for new nooks to explore, including gardens and art murals. And now I am excited to be a member of the ALC!
